XMAS, NEW YEARS AND EVERYTHING ELSE

CHRISTMAS

I've been pretty busy since my last post. I was able to go home on Christmas Eve and stay for 4 days. It was great being home; sleeping in my own bed, spending time with family and friends, and just getting a chance to get a little caught up on work stuff. My sister Abby came home from Georgia, so it was great getting to spend some time with her. Here's a picture of Melissa, Abby, me.The picture was taken in my parents new home which is pretty much complete. There's still little things to be done but they are finally moved in. This was the first of many holidays in the new family home base.
NEW YEARS

Even though I know that I still have many challenges ahead of me in 2009 I decided that there was still celebrating to do. 2008 was a tough year but i officially survived the year and strongly believe I am a stronger person because of the challenges I faced. Jeff, Shea, and I celebrated the end of 2008/beginning of 2009 by with dinner at Trece's and then headed to Victory Park for the big celebration. Thousands of people braved the cold weather and descended onto Victory Park. We made our way threw the crowds and ended up and a cigar bar located at the center of festivities. Luckily one of Jeff's friends is a partner in the bar.
You can tell from the pictures that we had an awesome time. When the clock struck midnight I realized that 2008 is finally behind me and my work in 2009 begins now. I have to take this chance to thank GOD and my friends and family for all their support in 2008. If it hadn't been for you all I'm not sure I would have been here to celebrate.

BIRTHDAY

For my Birthday (Dec 30th) Shea got me tickets to go see the Dallas Mavericks game on January 2nd. The game was a blast and they won!!SO WHAT'S GOING ON NOW?
Now that you've seen the fun times over the last couple of weeks I'll give you the information you probably want to hear. My radiation treatments are still going well. I've been using a new cream that has helped with the skin irritation. On Friday, my uncle David Tomlinson (my mothers step brother) was in town for the Cotton Bowl. He woke early Friday morning not feeling well and ended up being rushed to the local hospital and then air lifted to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. He had a heart aneurysm and was rushed into surgery that day. God just made another showing in my family's life. My uncle is now doing relatively well although he is still in I.C.U. How did GOD show his hand? David lives in Gruver which is a very very small town 90 miles north of Amarillo. If he had been in Gruver on Friday there is almost a 0% chance he would still be with us today. Please keep David and his family in your prayers in the coming weeks.
THE GOOD NEWS!
I only have a couple more weeks of radiation left. It looks like my final treatment will be around the 22nd of this month. My hair is still falling out and you can tell from the pictures above that I went ahead and got a very short haircut. If you've read this entire post, thank you. I hope I didn't bore you to much. 2009 is going to be a great and challenging year. However, I know with the grace of GOD and the support of my friends and family 2009 will be MY GREATEST YEAR EVER!!!
GOD BLESS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
