Hawthorn Publications, in Portsmough, NH, is seeking a freelance editor to coordinate the editorial and writing responsibilities for the premiere issue of a new pregnancy-through age 1 baby magazine serving the greater Seacoast area. In collaboration with Hawthorn's staff editorial team, the editor will develop story ideas, reports, write most content, and shepherd the project through to press (by November 2011). This is a great opportunity for a creative publishing professional with the right skill set who requires flexibility in hours and schedule.
Requirements: Proven experience managing publications is equally important to excellent written skills; bachelor's degree in journalism or communications field and 3-5 years related experience (or equivalent combination thereof); work from home with the ability to come into the Portsmouth, NH office as requested.
