I just wanted to give a quick update on how Brian is doing. I wish I could say that everything was great and he was at home but unfortunately that is not the case. On Monday morning Brian woke up with a terrible sore throat and a rash on his neck. We soon learned that he also was running a 102˚ temperature. As the day progressed his throat continued to become more irritated and the rash continued to spread. Since then his temp has ranged fro 103˚ down to 99˚. The rash has spread over his whole body and his throat still hurts. He has not had much of an appetite because he knows that requires swallowing and the pain is unbearable at times. Several doctors have been in with the hopes of a remedy, but so far they have not been able to pinpoint the cause of the rash, sore throat, or the temperature. They are not even sure if it is related to the surgery.
As far as his head goes…. his incision is healing very well and the swelling is almost completely gone. It is night and day from the first surgery! He looks great! On Tuesday morning he had a CAT scan that showed a small amount of swelling on his forehead. Dr. Mickey decided to extract the fluid and test it for infection. We are still waiting on the labs to come back to know if it is an infection or not. We are constantly praying that it is not another infection!
Right now there are so many unanswered questions…. Hopefully we will have the answers soon! Although Brian is very uncomfortable and in a lot of pain; he has somehow continued to keep a positive attitude towards the whole situation. He truly is amazing! Please pray that the doctors will figure out the cause of Brian’s pain and that God will heal him! Through all this uncertainty, the only thing that is certain is that God is right beside Brian. Thanks for all the prayers!
