Free contest, Stamford Festival Ghost Writing Competition, prizes: £70/ vouchers

As part of the Stamford Festival of Ghosts we invite you to write and enter a Ghost Story in to our writing competition. We are extremely privileged to have award-winning British author, Sarah Waters on board as head judge and we would also like to thank Stamford Living Magazine and Rutland Radio for their involvement in the competition.

Categories

Ages 8 to 12: Maximum word limit of 1000 words
Ages 12 to 16: Maximum word limit of 1000 words
Adults (Ages 16+): Maximum word limit of 1500 words
Winner and runner-up in each category

Prizes

Three winning Ghost Stories will be broadcast on Rutland Radio in January 2011 as Sunday evening storiesThree winners and three runners-up will be published on the Stamford Living websiteThe best of the three winners will be selected by the head judge and printed in Stamford Living magazine (issue to be confirmed)

In addition to the above prizes:

8 to 12: £20 Colemans vouchers

12 to 16: £50 from Stamford Living Magazine

16+ Adults: Vouchers from Walkers Book Shop

Rules

* Only one submission may be entered per person Both author and material not previously published
* All own, original work
* Not previously won, currently entered into or under consideration in any other competition
* Word limits - you must not exceed the word limit

All entries should be:

* Typed
* At least 1.5 line spacing Single sided
* No employees or immediate family members of Stamford Arts Centre, Local Living Ltd, Rutland Radio can enter.The judges decision is final
