Well as most of you know Brian went to be with Jesus on Friday December 17th. Shortly after I last updated the blog Brian went home. He was surrounded by his family and friends as he left this Earth to forever be in the kingdom of heaven. If you know brian at all.... You know he LOVED the snow and skiing. When we woke up on the 17th, it was snowing for Brian. He would have had it no other way. We had a memorial service on the 20th to celebrate Brian's life. It truly was a celebration. Although it was an extremely difficult day; the memorial service was perfect!! It was a reflection of his love for life, his family and friends, and most importantly his love for Jesus! Brian is no longer suffering and we will see him soon!
The past two weeks have been filled with many emotions and memories. The selfish side of me is so incredibly sad because I miss the love of my life but the other side of me is rejoicing because Brian in HEALED! Watching him suffer for 3 weeks was hard, but it gave me such a real understanding of total healing found in heaven. I have often found myself wondering if God's peace does surpass all understanding, or if I am still just in shock mode. For right now I will trust in God and know he is racing on the streets of gold!!
Today Brian would have been 28 years old. Marshi and Greg had an oak tree planted down by the cabin for Brian. Marshi chose to have an oak tree because it is strong, lives a long time, and it will grow tall like Brian. In the fall it will have pretty colors to remind us of him. We are all going to go to dinner and celebrate the way we know Brian would want us to! This has been a hard day for us, but it has been the best birthday for Brian! I can't imagine what it would be like to spend my birthday with Jesus... I do know that when that day comes Brian will be there with me!
Happy Birthday my handsome husband!!!! I love you so much and I can't wait to see you again!! We are going to have banana pudding ice-cream for you!!!
