I'm looking for writers that want to write about topics they are already really interested in or really knowledgeable about.
Basically, I'm looking for brief, succinct explanations of major events of the week in various topics.
These would be in a blog type of format and are intended to be more of a summation of other articles rather than original, compelling content.
For example, if you are really into sports and watch ESPN all the time and happen to be a writer, just write down all the main stuff that someone having a conversation with a sports buff would need be aware of, without overdoing it with details. I would encourage you to link to other articles just in case someone wants more information.
I would want similar articles about politics, business, world events, pop culture, etc.
The point would be to write about the MAIN stuff, not all the unimportant minor news that only matters to die hard followers of a topic.
So, if you constantly keep yourself up to date on any of these or other topics and happen to be a writer, please let me know if you're interested in writing very brief articles 5-10 times per month about each topic. Your ability to be up to date on the topic you're working on is far more important than your writing ability.
You would be paid to do this, just let me know what you think is fair. I was thinking around $15-$30 per post. If your articles work out this could be a regular gig and your payment per post would increase.
No need to send in a resume. I'll reiterate that writing ability is not as important as being up to date on a topic (or multiple topics depending on how well rounded you are). Just send me a message introducing yourself and explain why you think you would good for this. Be sure to let me know how you keep up to date on whatever topic you intend writing about.
