Free contest, The Aqui/ Here Movie Synopsis Contest, prize: 10 winners of $100 (worldwide)

Objectives and Deadlines:

The main objective of this contest is the development of a synopsis of a script idea for a shortfilm, strictly based on one of the ten different points of the "Manifesto for the Public Space". The Contest will occur from May 11th until June 11th. Join Now!


Story of the Synopsis:

The narrative of the synopsis may have fictitious elements idealized by the writer in the most diverse of social and cultural contexts. Choosing and developing of characters, their stories, paths and interactions is handled to the writer's creativity, but, however, they must have a real city from the five continents as a background for the story.

Contents:

The contents of this synopses must be original, from the writer's authorship, and must not have been submited for appreciation in other contests, or have won prizes of any sort. The synopsis is to be written in one of the four official languages of this project (English, Portuguese, French and Spanish).

Prizes:

If your synopsis is one of the winners, you will have a credit in the movie, a prize money of 100$ and the opportunity to work with the scriptwriter to further shape your idea.

The Contest's Rules

Here present are the rules for the "Aqui/Here Short Film Synopsis Writing Contest":

1 The Contest Organization

The "Aqui/Here Short Film Synopsis Writing Contest" is being organized by the Cine Clube de Avanca (Cine Club of Avanca) and the group Amigos D'Avenida (Friends of the Avenue) partnership.

2 Contest Appliances and Contents

For the "Aqui/Here Short Film Synopsis Writing Contest" may apply every writer presenting a synopsis for a short film script idea, having one of the "Manifesto for the Public Space"'s ten points as the basis for it's writing. The synopsis must be original, of the writer's authorship, and not have been submitted or won any prizes in any other contests. The synopsis must be written in one of the project's official languages: Portuguese, Spanish, French and English.

3 Definition of Synopsis

It's considered a short film synopsis a text with a maximum limit of 500 words written across one single page. It must have a simplified overview of the narrative with no dialogues, and must be adaptable for future audiovisual production.

4 Contents Orientation

The submitted synopses must be fiction oriented.

5 The Evaluation Jury

The evaluation jury will be comprised by scriptwriters and directors with recognized status in the areas of literature and cinema, which are directly involved in the production of the "Aqui/Here" movie.

6 Synopsis Judgement Criteria:

The synopsis judgement criteria to be accounted for by the jury during synopsis evaluation are:

Adequacy to the Manifesto's Ideology
Production Potencial
Narrative Fluidity

7 Synopsis Formatting

The synopsis must be written in a 12 font-size. Any readable fonts may be used at the writer's own will. Each synopsis must begin with title, a pseudonym chosen by the author and the exact description of the "Manifesto" point which served as basis for the writing. All of these must be written down in the "Message" Section of the Synopsis Upload form.

8 Material Sending Requisits

All contestants must upload their synopsis and fill in the sign up form present in the "Sign Up and Upload" section of the "Aqui/Here" website. The synopsis may be sent in the PDF,doc,docx,txt and rtf formats. Contestants may send more than one synopsis, but new registration and uploading are required for each new send for identification purposes. Winners in each of the ten Manifesto's points will be notified through their e-mail address supplied in the sign up form.

9 Contest Prizes

The jury will attribute a 100$ first prize to each of the ten winning synopsis for each one of the Manifesto's points, and the possibility to work with the director or scriptwriter involved in the making of the Manifesto's point in which the contestant based his work, for further script development. Honorable mentions will be given to other participants. The organization will also make a proposal for the aquisition of copyrights related to each one of the winning synopsis.

10 Participation Acknowledgement and Recognition

All of the short films to be produced will include a credit to their respective contest winners in the final movie screening.

Deadlines

As already explained in the contest's oficial rules, in order to participate, all the contestants must do the following:

* You must submit your work via the "Sign Up & Upload" form present in the "Aqui/Here" project's website.

* The accepted text formats are PDF, doc , docx, txt and rtf.

* The contestants may send more than one synopsis, but all of the registration process will have to be repeated for identification purposes.

* The winner of the contest in the Manifesto point chosen will be notified through the email supplied in the registration form.
