HOME SWEET HOME

I think this banner says it all. I'm finally done with radiation and back home in Amarillo. My final day of radiation consisted of .....

  1. Radiation at 7:45 A.M

  2. Pick dad up at the airport

  3. Work the car auction till 3:00 P.M

  4. Drive to Amarillo with my dad and 7 weeks of clothes in a very small car.

I was very tired after all of that to say the least. I woke up at 7:30 A.M on Thursday morning and prepared for my first day back at work. However...... Dr. Mickey had other ideas. He called me at 7:45 A.M and informed me that I was going back to bed. What can I say? It was doctors orders.

For the past several weeks my mother had been telling me she was throwing a SURPRISE Birthday party for my dad on Friday. My one duty for the party was to make sure that my dad did not leave the dealership until 7:00 P.M. Since my dad usually leaves work before that time I was trying hard to figure out how to keep him there. When I arrived at my parents house for "my dad's Birthday party" I soon realized that I had been fooled! My mother planned the party for me to welcome me home with an All Star guest list. Around 60 people were waiting for me to walk through the door to say "SUPPLIES"!! One of the many highlights of party was when I figured out that my college roommate and good friend Matt Lewis had flown in from Arkansas for the party.

My friends Jeff and Kallie came from Dallas and now you know why I called it an "All Star guest list." I want to thank everyone for coming. There's nothing better than good food and great friends to make you feel at home.

Overall I'm still feeling much like I have the past 7 weeks. The doctors say it will take some time before I begin to feel better. One of the things that makes me feel better is being at work and actually doing something productive for change. Also, it's great to be able to go back to my church where I feel at home.

That's all I have for now. I'm looking forward to spending the next month healing before I begin chemotherapy a month from now.

Thanks for reading and GOD BLESS,

Brian
