I THOUGHT THIS DAY WOULD NEVER COME!!

Yes, that's right. Tomorrow is my final day of radiation!! I wish I could remember how many treatments I have been through, but ......... they all just run together. I've been in Dallas for the past 7 weeks and tomorrow (Wednesday) I will finally be going home for good. Ok... maybe "for good" isn't exactly correct. I'll be coming back on February 19th to meet with my neuro oncologist for an M.R.I and begin chemotherapy. During my YEAR of chemo I will be required to come back here on a regular basis for checkups. I spoke with Dr. Mickey the other day and he said he wants to do my next surgery sometime around March 2oth. I wish I could tell you the radiation has worked perfectly. However, right now that is still unknown. My radiation oncologist told me that we won't know the full results of the treatments for 3 months. So once again I'll be playing the waiting game. I'm still feeling the side effects of the treatments and the Dr. tells me I will continue to feel tired for a few months.

So what am I going to do on my final day of treatment?
Well.... I moved my appointment up to 7:45 AM! I'm going to pick my dad up from the airport right after my treatment and then head to the auction for the day. After we get out teeth kicked in at the auction we're going to drive back to Amarillo. It's probably not a bad idea to have someone to drive home with.

What's been going on lately?
Life has been pretty boring lately. I basically wake up late, go to treatment, and then go back to wherever I am staying. However, last week I had a break from the norm. My friend Amanda, from Michigan, came into town last Wednesday and spent the week in the great state of Texas. We hung out in Dallas for a couple of days and then headed to Amarillo to hang out with my family. I'm pretty sure she was just looking for an excuse to get away from negative degree weather. While I was home I was able to attend my cousin Matt's wedding shower. Congrats to Matt and Anna Grace.

That's about it for me. I should know more about what the future holds for me soon and I'll let you know. Thanks again for your continued prayers and support. I ask that you please keep me on your prayer list. I hope you all are having a great new year and are getting a good start on making this YOUR GREATEST YEAR EVER! I'm definitely not a roll model but if you can learn one thing from my blog I hope it's that you can't change the cards you've been dealt but with a strong faith in GOD and a positive attitude you can make your cards great!

Side note:
Why is it that when the CEO's of the Big 3 car manufactures fly their small planes to D.C everyone gets mad but when the US government (you and me) pay for the ex president to fly a Jumbo Jet to Texas nobody says anything?

Thanks for reading and GOD BLESS!
