Amas Musical Theatre Announces a New Developmental Showcase: The Glorious Bouquet Project, a juried competition of new musicals by emerging minority composers, lyricists and librettists, new musicals celebrating minority themes, and new musicals featuring diverse casts appropriate for our "global world."

Overview
The Glorious Bouquet Project is a new musical development showcase created by Amas Musical Theatre to help foster a new generation of minority writers who create musicals that celebrate the minority experience, and writers who create musicals specifically for minority performers. For this Project we define minority based on race, gender identity, sexuality, and religious or spiritual background. The Glorious Bouquet Project will serve as an opportunity for these creators to share their work with the greater theatrical community and public as valuable additions to the American musical theatre canon.
Through a panel review submission process, The Glorious Bouquet Project will invite a few outstanding creative teams to present live excerpts of their work in a Glorious Bouquet Showcase. This evening of live presentations will be judged onstage by a jury of industry peers. There will be one musical chosen by the jury to receive a 29-hour Equity staged reading as part of the Amas Musical Theatre Six O'Clock Musical Theatre Lab Series.
The writers of the chosen musical will share a special $1,000 Glorious Bouquet Award stipend.
