Our stepper has taken his first step...

I just wanted to give everyone an update on how Brian's surgery went. He went into surgery at 7:15 this morning, and was so positive and strong as he was taken away. The hours seemed to last forever as we all prayed while the surgeons did their job. At 1:56 the doctor called Greg, Marshi, Mellisa and Abby back to let them know how the surgery went. Brian did great! The doctor was able to get all that he was expecting to, but unfortunately he was not able to get it all. We will know more of what the next steps will be when the pathology result come in. This could be as early as Tuesday of next week. The doctors do not want to make speculations as to what his treatment will be until the results are in. Until then we will be thinking positive thoughts and pray for good results! At 4:00 we were given 10 minutes to go in and see Brian. In groups of two we all anxiously took our turn! Brian looks great! He is very tired and has a headache.... go figure. We knew that Brian was himself when he immediately started cracking jokes. It was such a relief to see him being himself! Please continue to keep Brian in your prayers as this is just the beginning of a long road!
