Free contest, Advertiser-Dymocks Summer Short Stories Competition, top prize: AU$300 voucher

THERE'S just over a week left to submit entries in the Advertiser-Dymocks Summer Short Stories Competition.

Works of fiction - no more than 1000 words - will be judged in are two categories: Students (who attended a secondary school in 2006) and Adults.

Entries must be postmarked Friday, December 15. Previously published work is not eligible.

Ten finalists finalists in each category will have their stories published in The Advertiser, and receive a $30 book voucher from sponsor Dymocks Rundle Mall bookstore.

The two winners will be announced in late January. Their prize will be a $300 voucher from Dymocks Rundle Mall.

Only one entry per person will be accepted. Three copies of each story is required as well as a passport-sized photograph of the entrant, contact details and a brief writer's profile. Stories which breach the word limit or are written by a published author (self-published authors excepted) will be disqualified, as will entries not accompanied by a photograph and a profile.
