Contest runs till the end of the year. The story with the MOST VOTES and highest rating will WIN.
CONTEST DETAILS: Anyone can win this! It isn't just about talent or having the best story. It is about how many people read and RATE your story. Each STAR your story earns is worth 10 points, and each VOTE is worth 1 point. So even if your story does not get a high star rating, you can still win with the highest number of votes. IE: A 3 star story with 30 votes will beat a 5 star story with only 9 votes by one point.
The key is to tell everyone you know to come to Storystar to RATE your story. The more your story is read and rated the better chance you have to win. And the more stories you publish the more likely you are to have one rise to the top. The sooner you publish the better your chances, since your story will have more time to be read and rated before the contest closes.
Note that during the contest the highest rated stories will continue to be featured on the front page, changing every week and every month, as usual. This contest is for the cash, and for authors who might not otherwise make it to the front page to have an equal opportunity to do so. Previously published and rated stories can be part of the contest too, but none of the votes received prior to the start of this contest will count, so everyone will have an equal chance to win.
The winner will receive $250. US dollars and front page stardom on STORYSTAR.com for at least 5 weeks (1 week as Story STAR of the Week, and one month as Story STAR of the Month!).
