Join us for an evening of poetry from Queen’s youth on October 20, 2010.
WHO: Creative youth ages 7-17 who have an interest in writing poetry and their families.
Hosted by: Vera Borukhov, Director of Veracity Learning
WHAT: Poetry Contest Winners Announced at a fun, free evening for Queen’s families including light snacks and refreshments.
Students ages 7-17 are invited to submit a piece of their own poetry to Veracity Learning in consideration for the upcoming youth poetry competition. On the night of the event, the top five selected finalists from each category (elementary, junior high and high school) will each
read their own poetry to the audience and a panel of three judges. The judges will use a pre-determined rubric to select a winner from each age group. All winners will receive a gift certificate to a local retailer, prizes total $75-$100 and all attendees can enjoy complementary snacks and drinks. This will surely be an inspiring and educational evening for students and
adults alike.
Submissions for the Veracity Learning poetry contest are being accepted NOW and can be sent to veracitylearning@gmail.com.
