We want you to write a Haiku (a short, naturalistic form of Japanese poetry, which emphasises a sense of immediacy and connection with nature) on the theme of resolution, hope, renewal and looking forward as the year shifts towards the new. Haikus are traditionally 17 syllables in a form of three lines 5/7/5 (they can be shorter, but no longer).
The author of the winning haiku will receive a fee of £111.00. Entries should be emailed to haiku@edinburghshogmanay.com before Friday, 10 December
