Free contest, Research Nexus WikiLeaks Essay Competition, prize: $1,000

Articles to be 500-750 words and should broadly address the following question:

Is the recent treatment of Julian Assange and widespread political condemnation of the WikiLeaks websites a reflection of democracy in decline or the legitimate protection of a state’s security interests?

Closing date for submissions: Friday 18th March, 2011. Multiple entries are allowed.

He encourages submissions that are either supportive or critical of Julian Assange and WikiLeaks – the point, for Deniz, is for individuals to critically engage with important contemporary issues that are shaping the political landscape today and into the future.
