*Submissions for the first annual fiction e-chapbook contest will be accepted from July 1 through August 21.

Collections of short fiction by one author will be considered for the mid-March, 2011 e-chapbook.

Submissions will be accepted beginning January 1, 2011. Last day to submit is February 21, 2011.

Submit a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 15 stories. Stories may be flash or longer, from 500 up to 3,000 words each, totalling a minimum of approximately 7,500 and a maximum of 16,000 words for the collection.

We are more interested in compelling and subtle narrative with characters that walk off the page than in experimental fiction. No genre fiction, please, unless a story is good enough to transcend genre. Stories need not be linked.

General guidelines:

At least one-third of any collection should be previously unpublished.

Email manuscripts to editor@echapbook.com with FICTION SUBMISSION in the subject line. Attach only ONE FILE (Word doc or RTF or WordPerfect), which includes a title for the collection and a list of contents, followed by the stories, poems or essays. (Please do not send docx files, thank you!)

In the email, indicate which, if any, pieces were previously published and where. Do NOT include this information or your name in the document, as the readings will be blind.

Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, but only one chapbook collection per author. Please notify Wordrunner Electronic Chapbooks if your collection, or any part of it, is accepted elsewhere.

There is no fee for open submissions.

Payment, per echapbook: $65.

All rights revert to authors.
