Call for Essays/ Stories for Live Reading: Listen to Your Mother Show (Austin)

LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER features live readings by local writers on the beauty, the beast, and the barely-rested of motherhood, in celebration of Mother's Day. Born of the creative work of mothers who publish on-line, each production is directed, produced, and performed by local communities, for local communities.

Call for Submissions: AUSTIN

We are seeking a diverse collection of Austin writers (or aspiring writers!) to read their own words about motherhood in the first annual Listen To Your Mother show to be held on April 30, 2011. Everyone is invited to submit their piece of work, even if you are not a mother!

Please email your own original (as in written by you) humorous, poignant, and soulful words about the beauty, the beast, and the barely-rested that is MOTHERHOOD (or the mother-person who raised you.) Your piece should be roughly 5 minutes or less when read aloud.

Please send your essays to: LTYMAustin@yahoo.com. Selected readers will then be contacted for auditions to be held at a time and location TBD. Note: Austin is using a 2-part audition process. The first step is submitting your essay. From the submitted essays Jennifer and Wendi will contact those they wish to see at auditions.
