We provide a wealth of information through news and feature articles related to small businesses and financing, a searchable database of financial products and a directory of professionally recognized specialists to help small businesses navigate the world of small business financing.

What We Are Looking For:

Bloggers or writers with online writing experience to cover a wide variety of topics related to small business financing. Topics focus on how to link small businesses to traditional and alternative sources of capital to start-up, keep their doors open or expand, legislative developments that impact small businesses, day-to-day practical experiences of small businesses as they pursue capital, innovative approaches to assisting small businesses raise financing, etc. Profiles of inspirational small business financing success stories are also welcome. Posts would be between 250-500 words.

The right candidates will have excellent writing skills with a good command of the English language, grammar, spelling, etc. They should be able to tell a story and/or explain sometimes well-covered, complicated or stale topics in an interesting but polished way that is all their own. Writers who provide a number of published stories to NEB may be featured as a regular columnist.

Our Expectations:

• Original writing: no plagiarism or copy and pasting
• Well organized and detail-oriented
• Demonstrated high level of interest and/or experience writing about business and financing issues, experience at the intersection of small business and finance, a plus
• Comfortable researching small business trends and data via print, online and a variety of social media
• Open to editing and topic suggestions but also able to independently research and suggest/pitch topics

Pays $30-50 per pre-approved and published article based on quality and experience
