Paying market, SFmag, pays €10 per speculative fiction

SFmag is a free online magazine that publishes essays, reviews and short stories. Editors are: Csilla Kleinheincz, András Kánai and Botond Markovics (sfmaghun@gmail.com).

We usually contact writers directly but are also open to submissions in the following languages: English, German, Spanish, Japanese, Hungarian. We accept stories with elements of the fantastic that are original, fresh and consistent, have believable characters, are confidently written, unique in theme or execution and have that little extra that separates good writing from exceptional. We also seek essays on national SF and prefer world SF.

Word length: 3,000 to 5,000 words (fiction); 1,000 to 4,000 words (essays)

Payment: 10 EUR for fiction, no pay for essays

Genre: Sci-fi, fantasy, horror, magic realism

Rights: First Hungarian electronic rights (online, epub, prc) and non-exclusive publication in the annual SFmag e-anthology (epub, prc).

Formatting: RTF or DOC, 12 pt Times New Roman, without pictures. File should contain name and address of author.

Please take into consideration that as SFmag publishes one short story from foreign writers every two months we are pressed to choose very carefully and even acceptance may mean a long wait until publication.
