Underground Voices, an online literary magazine, is seeking hard-hitting, raw stories, fiction and non-fiction pieces (4,000 word maximum). Please see the magazine for content at http://www.undergroundvoices.com
Pay is $40 per piece.
Each year we publish our print edition. We are also seeking writers for our 2011 print edition ("Hotel Oblivion") due out in December 2011. Deadline is September 30th and the word maximum is 7000.
Looking for Poetry, Fiction, Non-fiction, and Flash fiction
If you would like to submit, please include a bio and send email submissions in the body of the email or as an attached word document to uveditor@undergroundvoices.com.
Fiction should run up to roughly 4000 words maximum. We only accept unpublished work and hold first and one-time rights only i.e, once we have published your work, you are free to submit it elsewhere. We do accept simultaneous submissions but if your work has been accepted elsewhere, please notify us so that we may withdraw it from consideration. Work that has appeared in print magazines will be considered as long as it does not appear on the print magazine's website. We do not accept work that has already been published online.
Our budget allows payment for fiction ($40) but no payment (yet) for poetry and prose. We're working on changing that.
