The Creative Writing Program announces the annual competition for The Urmy/Hardy Poetry Prize for poetry of high literary merit, traditional or experimental.
Entries must be received by Thursday April 14, 2011, 4:00 p.m., Margaret Jacks Hall, Room 223.
Entries are solicited from all Stanford undergraduates and will be judged by a panel appointed by the Creative Writing Program. The prize winners will be announced in May and will be invited to read from their work on Tuesday, May 24 at 7pm. Submit a maximum of 3 poems, no more than 5 pages typed. Include a cover sheet with: a title, your name, year in school, email, telephone number, name of the prize (“Urmy/Hardy”). Include a title on the manuscript for each poem as the cover page will be removed for judging. The poet’s name should not appear anywhere on the manuscript itself. Hard copies only (except for students not currently in residence at Stanford).
No submissions will be returned.
