Mahalo, a Top 300 website dedicated to teaching our users how to “Learn Anything,” is looking for one experienced journalist in each of the following categories: TRAVEL, COOKING, HEALTH/BEAUTY, MATH/SCIENCE, MUSIC/PIANO, PARENTING and AUTOMOTIVE.
The person filling these roles will be responsible for writing and programming all vertical-related pages and how-tos within their chosen subject. Beyond just writing pages, you will be responsible for designing and developing the entire curriculum for your vertical - what to cover, in what order, and how to best present that information. This curriculum will dictate every page we make and every video we shoot - talk about power! If you having writing experience and a passion for any of the above subjects, we'd love to hear from you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Write up to 40 200- to 300-word articles per week in your category
-Work directly with video editor/producers and talent to drive video and editorial content
-Create a curriculum that maximizes learning for Mahalo users
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
B.A. in journalism, English or communications a plus; must have exceptional editing and written communication skills; collaborative style to work effectively with colleagues, multiple departments in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to write, edit and produce compelling material in area of expertise. Superior organizational skills. Experience with video, Web a plus.
