We’re a new web property interested in creating quality content on a plethora of topics. We seek to provide web users with advice they can trust, from folks just like you. We’re a public resource, designed to help people navigate the complicated and overwhelming world of content on the web.
Our topical sites will have a heavy emphasis on users: through forums, groups, user contributed content and the like.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for professional experts to blog in a friendly, easy to understand voice. We’re looking for bloggers on a few dozen topics, and each blogger will (for now) focus on only one topic each. Each topic will have a strong user-contributed element, but your focus will be on basic blogging. Your blog will appear front and center on each topic’s main page. Your name and likeness will appear with your blog posts.
This work is not full time. We’re seeking freelance contractors, not employees.
The work:
We’ll ask you to create ten original blog posts per month. Blog posts should be between 250 – 500 words per post, and should demonstrate the following:
• A level of professional expertise on the topic
• A fun, concise, easy-to-relate-to tone and voice
• An understanding of basic SEO concepts
• Adeptness at web formatting, and creating attractive, user friendly content
• An ability to link/crosslink within content to keep users moving through the content on our network
If accepted, you’ll be given access to a basic content management / blogging interface where you’ll enter your content.
Compensation is $15 per blog post, to start.
You’ll have minimal editorial oversight, and so the content you create will be entirely up to you! We ask only that you keep it ethical, consistent with your topic description and easy to understand.
We have no-tolerance policies with regard to plagiarism and schemes. All content on our sites should come from the heart. Our aim is to help users, never to hinder or harm. Failure to adhere to the principles of common sense and ethical behaviors will result in immediate termination of your contract.

3. If you feel the gig might be right for you, send an email to lauren@socialnexus.com. The email should include the following:
a. Subject should include your last name, and the topic you’re applying for, in this format: Topic | Last Name
b. A brief cover letter written directly into the body of the email that describes why you’re interested, where your related experience is, and any other information pertinent to why you’re definitely the right person for the job. (Brief is really better.)
c. A brief writing sample related to the topic, of no more than 400 words. Your writing sample may be a link to someplace on the web (even if that content is more than 300 words). If you’re not sending a link, your writing sample should be included in the body of the email, not as an attachment.
TIP: Use b & c to show off your formatting skills!
d. Your resume. Your resume should highlight your experience on the topic. Please only include a resume if it’s specific to the topic. Your resume may be pasted into the body of the email, sent as a weblink or attached as a .pdf or .doc. Applications without a resume will be considered, so please only include a resume if it's specific to the topic.
