Freelance job, caption/ subtitle proofreader, payment: $40-$75 per movie

We are a captioning/subtitling company looking for an American English proofreader.
The main task on each project will be to watch a movie captioned or subtitled in English and correct any inaccuracies or misspellings and in some cases be able to improve the sentence structure to make it more understandable to an English-speaking audience (this would be the case when the movie dialog is in a foreign language and it has been translated into English).

It is imperative that a candidate can discern the correct words from the movie dialog even when such dialog is not very clear. It is also very important that he/she has an eagle eye to be able to spot misspellings or inaccuracies as the movie plays. You have to be quick and have a sharp eye to spot any mistakes.

The ideal candidate would be required to have a recent model PC (past 4-5 years), have a high-speed connection to the Internet, be very comfortable in using a computer (you will be required to install a software we provide) and be able to accept projects with quick turnarounds (typical turnaround is 24 hours) and over weekends.

NOTE: Each selected candidate will have to take a short test.
