Freelance writing, ETFLive.com (topic: finance), pays $15 per short post

Do your friends come to you for stock tips? Is CNBC the first thing you watch in the morning, while reading the FT and WSJ? Do you know the difference between stocks and bonds? … And, most importantly, can you explain what an ETF is in terms your grandmother would care about?

If so, you may have what it takes to join our team. We are a start-up website focused on providing tools, analysis and content on exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and our content can span from news, expert analysis and in-depth product reviews.

We're looking to build our news bureau with staff writers who can work remotely. We need someone who can transform unfolding new events into actionable investment themes and ideas (trading strategies, product reviews, insights, markets to watch, etc.) for ETF investors. Writers will typically work from market news, fund cards, prospectuses, web research and press releases to drill down to the facts, injecting commentary, references to other relevant news, and occasionally contacting experts and other sources for commentary and clarification. You'll be writing multiple short, to-the-point news briefs every morning, typically about 300 words in length. Compensation will be $15 per short post (negotiable for longer, feature content).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Writers will need familiarity with financial markets and will require specific knowledge about the world of exchange traded funds. Besides allowing you to write informed articles, a familiarity with ETFs will help you transform market news to the vital content that our readers crave.

(1) Keeping a conversational, informed and engaging tone is essential.
(2) Your stories will hit the Web prior to making it through an editor. You'll need a proficiency in AP Style and an eye for detail.
(3) A sense of autonomy and responsibility are essential.
