Chiropractic Newsletter Writer

iMatrix is currently seeking an experienced newsletter writer who can write chiropractic-based newsletters that have a friendly and upbeat tone. This is an ongoing position that requires two newsletters to be written each month about a variety of topics. Each month, one newsletter should be about "Wellness Topics" and the other newsletter can be about one of any of these categories: Backaches & Sciatica, Headaches & Neck Pain, Diet & Nutrition, Exercise & Fitness, Women's Health Issues, Children's Health Issues, and Stress Management. You will be responsible for coming up with your own newsletter topics.

Newsletter Guidelines:

The body content of each newsletter article should meet these requirements:
• A catchy, "hot" topic of interest, may be related to a current event or current "trend" in chiropractic, health and wellness
• Relate to the category to which the article is created, ie articles in Diet and Nutrition should relate to topics on diet and nutrition
• Makes no reference to seasons
• Makes minimal references to American idiosyncrasies and pop culture -- even though the majority of our readers are American, our audience is international and includes Canada, Australia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, England, Germany, Netherlands, etc..
• Generally educational regarding health and wellness. We do not want to promote any one particular type of specialty or procedure.
• Includes Cited sources
• Word Count should be about 400-600

There also should be a smaller 'sidebar' article with each newsletter:

• Highlight how chiropractic care relates to the body of the article
• Entice the reader to make an appointment with their chiropractor
• Image (Includes at least one image that is aesthetically pleasing, general in nature yet relates to the content of the article): We will pay for all newsletter images, but you will need to pick them out from iStockPhoto.com
• 75-100 words in sidebar content

Duties

• Write two newsletter articles each month according to the newsletter guidelines
• Choose an image to illustrate each article
• Resize your chosen picture for the newsletter and post articles every month via our easy-to-use CMS (full training will be provided)

Requirements

• Able to create friendly, upbeat, and informative newsletter articles on a regular basis
• Must be very knowledgeable about chiropractic care and be able to cite all your facts
• Able to write in a way that engages the reader while keeping content simple, easy to read, and widely applicable
• Able to come up with appropriate newsletter topics for each newsletter article (you will be choosing your own newsletter topics)
• Able to deliver high quality work, meeting all deadlines
• Clear communication skills
• Experience with WYSIWYG editors helpful
• Basic understanding of SEO practices helpful
• Basic Photo Editing and HTML experience is helpful, though we will train the right candidate.

IMPORTANT: While there may be some initial in-office training, this contact position requires that you work remotely. Therefore it is essential that you have a home computer with an internet connection.
