We are after a reliable person who can write for our finance blog. You don’t have to be a finance superstar, instead we are looking for people who are money savvy, looking to save money and consider themselves a savvy consumer. Think of yourself as a reporter: giving everyday readers insights into how to save money, get out of debt, pay off mortgages, avoid spending traps and more.

About you:

We would expect you to be well spoken, capable of writing concise and helpful articles and above all things – have a great conversational style that shows you are the Carrie Bradshaw of finance blogging. We want your opinions, your thoughts, your helpful hints. We want you to be like the reporter on the ground, covering everyday finance topics ranging from what is in the media to how we can take advantage of the recent price wars between supermarkets. If you want to build a profile as a writer, you are welcome to leverage our huge readership and become a known contributor to the website.

This job would suit:

A stay at home mum looking to make extra income from home. Someone who can commit to 15 articles per week at minimum. This means 3 articles every day – they don’t have to be nobel prize winning articles but should be helpful, relevant and timely – providing regular content to our readers who have a thirst for saving money tips. We are trying to build a strong team of writers – as our blog is starting to get traction, we are getting lots of media attention. This means we could foresee someone eventually joining the website full time if they wanted to in order to help maintain a vast amount of work. See this as potential for entry level into a website that may one day become huge or get taken over. Hours are flexible, allowing you to work from home – the only thing we ask is that you agree to delivering at least 15 articles per week. Please think long and hard about whether you can deliver 15 articles per week and also whether you are confident in your writing ability. We are looking for relaxed and confident writers. Grammar and spelling are vital.

The articles:

We would expect you to write between 300-500 words per article on a topic of your choice. The topics generally should be about saving money, though you are welcome to talk about anything in finance you want as long as it provides some general or useful help to readers.

Payment:

$18 per article to start with – which means if you do 15 per week, that is a total payment of: $270 a week. We pay directly into your account on a weekly basis. Our goal is to increase the cost per article once we can afford to do so. We prefer people with their own ABN for invoicing.
