About the Contest
Are you an aspiring children's book illustrator and author? MeeGenius wants to hear from you! In honor of National Literacy Month, MeeGenius is looking for the most creative and fun new children's book to hit our site! Join the MeeGenius children's book contest and have your book published on our website and via our app! Entering the contest is simple - just follow the steps below! The grand prize winner will win an Apple iPad (64GB + Wifi/3G), and four runner-ups will receive an iPod Touch (32GB)!* * If there is more than one collaborator working on a submission, we will award a prize per collaborator with a maximum of two prizes per submission.
To Enter:
1. Review our rules and agreement
2. Please submit a children's book targeted at the 3-8 year old market.
3. Books must include a minimum of 10 pages of text with no more than 500 characters per page.
4. Every submission must include illustrations.
5. Please use the authoring tool provided on our website to submit your book according to the specs provided.
6. The deadline for submission is Thursday, October 31st at 5:00PM EST.
What happens next:
1. MeeGenius will review all submissions and announce the 10 finalists in December.
2. Our panel of judges will then select the Grand Prize winner and the four runners-up in January 2011.
3. If you are a winner, you will be contacted and advised that your book will be published via all of our channels, and you will receive either an iPad or iPod Touch depending on which prize you have won.
4. Once the book is published, the author/illustrator will receive 30% of the net revenues for each book sold!
5. If you are not a winner, MeeGenius may still choose to publish your book! While you will not receive either of the prizes, you will still earn 30% of the net revenues each time someone downloads your book!
