My company, Nightfall Publications, is a small publishing house looking for new, talented authors. We are doing this through a series of anthologies in different genres. We are currently accepting Horror/paranormal short story submissions, but we have an entire calendar of anthologies and genres. We pay $25 per accepted story, one story per author, with a free copy of the anthology when completed, and discounts for additional purchases.
When we have a story that doesn't work, we send a personalized email to the author, explaining what we found and why the story didn't work. We understand that just saying 'no' doesn't help authors figure out what was wrong and where they need to improve.
