Call for entries 2011
The Perugia and Terni Chambers of Commerce have set up the second edition of Stories on Umbria journalism award. The competition is addressed to articles and TV programmes covering issues of artisticcultural-environmental highlights and high-quality economic system of the region, improving Umbria visibility both in Italy and worldwide.
Rules
1. Participation in the competition is free and implies full acceptance of the rules.
2. The competition is divided into three sections:
Traditional press articles: photo-journalistic articles published in 2010 in Italy or abroad; Television: TV reports broadcasted in 2010 in Italy or abroad; Web articles: web articles published in the net in 2010.
3. Articles and programmes can be sent also as the result of a team work. Each author can submit only two pieces of work.
4. Works must be sent to the Organizing Secretariat of the Competition not later than March 13, 2011: Chamber of Commerce of Perugia, Press and Communication Office, Via Cacciatori delle Alpi, 42 - 06121 Perugia - Italy, email: urp@pg.camcom.it. Competitors must also send the entry form – duly filled in and signed – and a brief curriculum vitae.
5. Press - Prize of € 2.500,00.
Participation is reserved to articles published in newspapers or magazines in 2010. Works must be sent together with a copy of the newspaper or magazine in which they were published (also in PDF format if sent by email). Articles in foreign languages must be translated into Italian or English.
6. TV - Prize of € 2.500,00.
Participation is reserved to services broadcasted in 2010 on national television or satellite tv. Works must be sent in DVD or mini DVD cam. A brief synopsis in Italian or in English must be submitted; television services in foreign languages must be subtitled in Italian or in English.
7. Web - Prize of € 1.500,00.
Participation is reserved to articles published on the web in 2010. Articles in foreign languages must be translated into Italian or English.
8. The works will be selected by the jury panel.
9. Works will be examinated by the following general criteria:
- Originality of the subjects
- Richness of information
- Ability to match territory and enterprise issues.
10. The Jury Panel will select the best contribution in each category. The awarding of the prizes will take place in Perugia during the 2011 International Festival of
Journalism.
11. Every price will be paid cash for the amount of 40%. The remaining 60% will consist in a journey to discover Umbria and its local products.
12. Prizes not collected personally by the authors will remain in the availability of Chambers of Commerce of Perugia and Terni.
13. The decisions and the reasons expressed by the Jury Panel are final. Chambers of
Commerce reserve the right to make appropriate amendments to these Rules if
necessary, by adequate publicity on their institutional websites.
General Information
In connection with anything not expressly provided for in these rules, decisions are up to the Chambers of Commerce. The Organizing Secretariat of the award is by the Chamber of Commerce of Perugia. The Chamber of Commerce of Perugia guarantees the use of personal data in accordance to law. The Chamber of Commerce of Perugia reserves the right to publish all the works on their own media, in obedience to original texts and images.
