About the award
The Bosch Technology Horizons Award is a national essay-writing competition run by Bosch in partnership with the Royal Academy of Engineering.
Robert Bosch was only 25 years old when he founded the company Bosch and 2011 marks our 125th anniversary! At Bosch, we're really focused on showing young people just how important engineering is to future development and that, as an engineer, you can make a real difference in the world. That's why we've been running the Bosch Technology Horizons Award for the past six years.
In addition to £1,000 cash prize for the winner, we're also offering six months' paid work experience at one our sites across the UK. So, not only do you get to research and write a great essay, but you could end up with something even greater to put on your CV!
For your chance to win, write a 750-word essay answering just one of the following questions:
1) What role can engineers play to ensure a greener world in the next 125 years?
or
2) What do you think was Robert Bosch's greatest engineering achievement in his lifetime and why?
Entrants don't need to have an engineering background. In past years, we have received entries from a range of disciplines including Physics, English, Geography and Economics - so don't be shy! Crack on!
