What better way to enjoy good wine than with a poem at the table?
What better way to enjoy poetry than with a glass of good wine in your hand?
* The Coriole Poetry Competition will select The Australian Wine Poet for 2012.
* The Prize money is $4,000 plus wine to the value of $1,000.
* The name of the winning poet is used for a red wine made at Coriole. Six poems are selected for the back labels. The wine is packaged in boxes of 6 so that all poems are included in a set. This wine is then sold throughout Australia.
* Each box comes with a brochure with details of the poet, the project and the wine.
* The poet may also negotiate to include a slim book of poetry in each box.
* The wine is a blend of Cabernet and Barbera. It is a high quality wine that sells for approx $35 a bottle. Previous "Coriole poet series" have featured poets Jude Aquilina and Peter Goldsworthy. These series were a great success and hence it was decided to extend the selection to a national competition.
* The five runner-up entries will receive a six pack of the winning wine.
