Freelance writing, LGBT Community Newspaper, pays $35-$65 per story (San Diego)

Bi-weekly Gay San Diego, LGBT community newspaper, is seeking freelance news reporters. Ideal candidates will have the following background and experience:

· A journalism degree or equivalent experience.

· News stories published in local newspapers and/or LGBT publications.

· Knowledgeable about the local LGBT community.

· Ability to pitch news stories.

· Can submit professional quality photos with assigned news stories.

· Has or can quickly develop contacts with local LGBT community leaders, groups and organizations.

· Is familiar with AP style and guidelines.

Pay range for writers is $35 to $65 depending on readability, number of story sources and quality of submitted photos. Please send resume, cover letter and examples of published news stories.

Location: Hillcrest/North Park
