Freelance writing, North Hills Patch, pays $25-$100 per piece

The North Hills Patch, a new community news and information resource for Ross Township and West View Borough, will be launching in May, and we are looking for experienced freelance journalists and photographers with a pitch or interest in covering the area. Work available includes short-term assignments such as features, profiles, night meeting coverage, weekend event coverage and/or weekly beat coverage. Beat needs are still evolving but will include local sports, the North Hills School District and business news & features in both areas. Pitches and assignments can vary from print to photo to audio or video stories or a cross package.

Freelancers should have their own equipment for the assignment and the ability to travel to the area as needed. We're looking primarily for freelancers with experience reporting news for a newspaper, television or radio station or other media outlet, but encourage recent grads and journalism students with great recommendations to also apply.
