We are an established lifestyle/news publication looking to increase the content of our blogs. We are seeking two committed freelancers who are able to pitch and post on a daily basis. Categories of our online coverage include food/restaurants, fashion and arts/events, all with a focus on Toronto.
As the ideal candidate, you live in Toronto and know it well. You have had some training in journalism and understand the basic principles of accuracy, timliness, etc. You can work independently, conducting interviews and finding your own stories and sources. You are also not bad with a camera.
Compensation is $20-$50 per blog post, depending on complexity. Many of these posts can be done from home. Posts that require in-depth research, multiple phone calls and/or photos will pay at the upper end of the spectrum. Invoices will be processed once per month.
Our bloggers will find many opportunities to interview prominent people, check out the newest restaurants/stores and write in a fun, personal, humourous style (no dry news writing here).
