Free workshop, How to Create Suspense in Fiction with Carolyn Wall (Oklahoma City Writers Summer Workshop)

Every piece of fiction requires mountains of suspense to keep readers turning pages. We'll dissect those dire necessities and apply them to our own work. Even writers of non-fiction can benefit. Come prepared to deal with breathless drama.

Carolyn Wall is the author of the New York Times-acclaimed novel Sweeping Up Glass, which won the 2009 Oklahoma Book Award in Fiction and has been published in 11 countries and 9 languages. A former fiction editor for ByLine magazine and senior staff writer for Persimmon Hill, Carolyn teaches novel writing and lectures across the country. She is a two-time winner of OWFI’s crème-de-la-crème award and many other national honors. Her second novel, Playing With Matches, will be availablein bookstores in August 2011.
