Are you an experienced writer with a passion for personal stories? Do you have a talent for documenting the color and details of a life story in a condensed, written form? If so, we need you!
Good Catch Publishing is a rapidly expanding Christian publisher seeking three freelance writers to interview and write the stories of real people in our client churches and non-profit organizations. We're looking for motivated self-starters who love people, love writing their stories, and most importantly, love the work of the local church.
Freelance writers work from home from around the nation. Responsibilities include:
• Interviewing storytellers from around the nation via telephone.
• Using those interviews to then write the inspirational, true-life stories of real people who have triumphed over adversity by the power of Jesus Christ.
Applicants should be passionate and outgoing and possess a strong command of the written English language and some familiarity with AP Style. Applicants with degrees in journalism, English and communications are preferred. At least one year of professional writing experience is required.
All GCP writers work from home and must have broadband Internet, telephone service (for interviews) and a digital tape recorder to record interviews.
GCP pays writers $150 per completed, approved story. Stories average 3,500 to 7,000 words. Writers are 1099 employees and work on a freelance basis.
All qualified applicants should read our current Catch of the Month -- this month's featured story taken from one of our current testimony books: http://goodcatchpublishing.com/index.php/read-the-stories/17-high-lead-to-heaven. If you can write a story as good as or better than this one, send a cover letter, resume and published, non-fiction writing sample (one that represents your ability to write a non-fiction dramatic narrative) to the email address noted above IN THE TEXT of the e-mail (no attachments, please). Applications accepted via e-mail only through 8 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, June 10. Finalists will be notified no later than Tuesday, June 14.
