West Of and the James Island Messenger, both weekly community newspapers in West Ashley and James Island, respectively, are looking for budding community journalists for specific stories. Previous writing/reporting experience is preferred. Photography ability also a plus. If you have always wanted to try writing articles, this is your chance and FOR PAY.
Get experience in writing news and feature articles from a real newspaper with nearly 15,000 copies printed each week! Please email resumes and work samples to the address above. Although you would be a freelancer, we would prefer writers with flexible schedules, able to work a few hours on weekdays.
Payment is $25 per story (single or double run)
