Freelance job, political journalist, payment: $50-$100 per story (New Haven)

Are you a journalist with a passion for politics? We are looking for a smart and energetic writer to cover the political beat in town and to do so with objectivity and enthusiasm. You must be able to exercise good news judgment and turn copy around quickly. Ability to work a camera (shoot photos and videos) is a must.

You will be attending one to two evening meetings a week. You must be able to work independently, develop good relationships and above all write a fair and balanced story.

All interested writers, please respond via e-mail with a resume and writing sample. If you do not have any relevant writing samples, please attend a town meeting (in Branford or nearby) and write a 400- to 600-word story.
