Freelance writing, VisitSouth.com, pays $15 per post (USA)

VisitSouth.com is looking for Insiders! Specifically, we are hiring freelance bloggers for a variety of cities. We are especially looking for new Insiders who live in or very near Baton Rouge, Louisiana; New Orleans, Louisiana; Biloxi/Gulfport, Mississippi; Mobile, Alabama; South Walton, Florida. There are many other openings as well.

Writing for VisitSouth.com is ideal for freelance writers and others looking to have fun writing about their cities while earning a bit of supplemental income. (Note: these are not temporary assignments; we are looking to form long-term relationships with reliable, talented bloggers.)

Pay is $15 per post. Eight posts per month are required.

Candidates must be able to

• Commit to posting two blogs per week
• Commit to contract for at least eight months
• Meet or exceed deadlines
• Understand how to source photos and secure permissions for photographs that accompany each post
• Demonstrate solid English grammar and spelling skills
• Have thorough understanding of the city and region
• Write lively "feel like you are there" copy
• Live in or nearby the destination for which they are applying
• Photography and video skills a plus!
• Note: Additional assignments are sometimes available for those Insiders who demonstrate excellent writing skills and outstanding reliability.

Candidates should not be presently working for competitive destination marketing/tourism websites or publications. Candidates must be citizens of the United States.
