Freelance job, write about parenting/ childcare, payment: $10 per paragraph

We are hiring two editors and a yet undetermined number of contributing writers for a series of works on parenting. The editorial positions will pay $2,500 to $4,000, depending on experience, to proof writer submissions equivalent in volume to a medium-short book, make minor independent rewrites of any grammatical errors or awkward constructions, and suggest more substantial changes for the writers to make. The writing positions will be per piece and will be calculated so that a good writer will make a competitive rate. We envision paying $10 per one-paragraph contribution and imagine each contribution taking 6 to 12 minutes, making writing pay $50 to $100 per hour; it will probably take 12 minutes more often than 6, but this is the range our writers have experienced so far. There is some thinking time but little or no research involved in the writing positions. Both types of positions are temporary and part-time. Samples of the target style and structure will be given to the writers.

To apply, please submit something you have written on parenting, childcare, or education, focusing on the baby, infant, or toddler years. Or, if you don't already have an on-topic writing sample, submit a well-written blurb detailing a baby, infant, or toddler activity plus a paragraph summarizing a scientific study of any sort concerning parenting young children. The tone should be neutral and submissions will be judged on clarity.

A resume is not required, but in your email please specify any relevant educational or work experience. You must have a dependable internet connection and forward your email to a cell phone or check your email frequently.
