Free contest, Winter in Island Park Essay Contest, top prize: $100

Caldera winters can be romantic, dangerous, adventurous, exciting, and life changing. Nearly everyone who has wintered here has at least one fantastic story to tell.

Now you can tell it and win an award! The Island Park News will award $100, $75, and $50 respectively to the first, second, and third place winner of the “Winter in Island Park” essay contest. Winners will also have their work published in the paper’s Christmas issue.

Only e-mailed entries will be accepted. The word limit is 750. The deadline is 7 a.m. Monday, December 20.

You do not have to currently live in Island Park to participate in this writing adventure; you just have to describe an experience that took place here in the winter — any year and any time between November 1 and March 23.
