Editorial Needs:
The focus of this site is to help writers manage kids and clips under one roof. I am particularly interested in problem-solving articles and essays. The tone may be serious or humorous. Preferred length for feature articles or reprints is between 500 - 1,000 words.
Topics of Interest include:
Writing Trade/How To's: Tips, advice and suggestions to help writers improve their craft. Such topics could include; querying, writing book proposals, finding an agent, researching publications, writing fiction, fillers, increasing income, the business side of freelancing, among others.
The Writing Life: How do you schedule your day? How do you get family and friends to take your writing career seriously, and realize you really do work from home?
Balance and Inspiration: How do you balance your writing career and family without becoming a work-a-holic or live in complete chaos?
Organization: How do you manage information overload such as e-mail, submissions and queries, filing and other home-office duties enabling you to run your business in a smooth fashion?
Rights:
1. For original, unpublished work, I purchase first electronic rights with the option to archive indefinitely.
2. For reprints I purchase reprint rights and non-exclusive electronic rights with the option to archive indefinitely.
When querying or submitting please state if your proposed piece is an original or reprint.
Pays upon acceptance:
$ 25 for original, unpublished articles.
$ 10 for reprints.
(Paperwork and checks are processed every Thursday. Your check will be cut the first Thursday after the acceptance date.)
In addition to payment you will also receive a byline, bio or resource box. You are welcome to include your e-mail address and links to your site(s) in your bio.
How To Submit:
Queries are preferred over complete manuscripts. Send e-mail queries to editor@writefromhome.com Please, no phone queries. When sending an e-mail query or submission make sure the query or submission is in the body of the e-mail, not sent as an attachment.

Misc.
The Writing With Children-Quick Tips and Jabber Jaw sections of this site are open to submissions but is a non-paying area.
Please do not submit poetry or fiction.
