Proofreader (copy editor) for small Arizona book publisher, Brighton Publishing: www.brightonpublishing.com
Includes genres of literature in science fiction, romance, cookbooks, and literary fiction. Sub-contractor 1099 basis; paid per word, per project (typically $575.00 per manuscript). Does not need to be on-site, may tele-commute via the Internet. Must be mature, reliable, and responsible. This is a permanent position.
Candidate should have experience/familiarization with guidelines of the Chicago Manual of Style and a strong command of the English language. Must possess the ability to correct grammatical, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and storyline issues within manuscripts.
Ideal candidate would have a degree in Journalism, English Composition and Grammar, Writing and/or equivalent experience or ability. Degree is not essential if individual possesses experience and/or ability.
