Freelance writing, Butterscotch.com, topics: mobile technology, pays $15 per post (Canada - telecommute)

Reply to: job-cncra-2164565513@craigslist.org

We're looking for a tech savvy journalist blogger who's very familiar with and excited by the possibilities presented by the Android mobile OS. If you know what Gingerbread means outside of the context of a bakery and if you're ferreting out details of Ice Cream Sandwich as I type this, that's you.

Beyond the blog, there's a possibility of expanding this role as a researcher or possibly host of a 3-5-minute weekly Android web show on butterscotch.com.

Focusing on news and announcements in the Android space, you'll cover things like the latest Market numbers (and what they mean), new handsets and tablets, North American carrier deals, Android uptake in the larger smartphone market, key releases and updates from leading Android developers and the like. There's also room for some app reviews and the like.

Our audience is tech-interested and somewhat savvy but our job is to explain as opposed to simply excite an existing geek fervor; focus on WHY an announcement matters, WHAT's the big deal, HOW this will affect end users and so on. Y'know, the basic tenets of good journalism.

We're looking at a minimum of one 200-300 word post per day at a rate of $15 per. Weekdays to start. Expansion into weekends possible. Pay will increase with performance.

Please respond with a couple of clips, links to your personal site / blog where available, resume and at least a paragraph telling us why you're the perfect fit.

Butterscotch.com is The Sweet Mobile Lifestyle Network. A division of Tucows Inc., we've been online for just over a year and have close to 4,000 videos online. Our mandate and mission is to help people do more with the mobile technology they already own and turn them onto the mobile tech that's next.

Location: King and Dufferin, Toronto, ON

Compensation: $15 per post

Telecommuting is ok.
