Freelance writing, Cedar Park Kids, various topics, pays $25-$50 per article (USA)

I'm looking forward to meeting writers who live in the Central Texas area, specifically in Cedar Park and Leander to write articles about the area.

Since we are a start-up, with the launch scheduled for this spring, we are looking for writers who can begin right away. Article lengths will run from blurbs ($25) to 600-1,000 word feature articles and departments ($50).

The subject matter is everything that would interest parents with children: activities and events in the area (plays, concerts, sporting events, nature walks, etc.); environmental issues, including how kids can help save our planet (by recycling, getting involved in area clean-up activity, etc.), food, meaning how to feed our children healthy foods at home and in the (supermarkets and restaurants that provide healthy food), gardening tips for kids.

Some of the articles will be non-specific to the Cedar Park area, but the search right now is for writers in this locale to query with story ideas that would pertain to this publication.

Initially, Cedar Park Kids will be accessed online but later may also go to print. The publication will also evolve as in regard to subject matter (expanding the scope of ideas) and to size (raising the word count of articles and resultant increase in pay for writers).
