NewWest.Net, a six-year-old website covering the news and culture of the Rocky Mountain West, is looking for a variety of contributors to write about and/or photograph outdoor adventures. Content generated for our Summer in the Rockies Blog is geared toward hiking, biking, running, climbing, kayaking, fishing, rafting and other outdoor pursuits in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. The project is modeled after New West's Snow Blog (www.newwest.net/snowblog), which primarily covers skiing and snowboarding in the Rockies. Posts are professionally edited. Bloggers and journalists with an existing body of work are encouraged to apply. Cross-posting content from personal blogs, thereby guiding a new audience to your work, is a possibility.
Pay for each post is typically $20, but can go up for experienced writers, especially those who conduct interviews. Please send inquiries, as well as links to previously published work, to Contributing Editor Jule Banville, jule [@] newwest.net.
