Freelance writing, US-China Today, pays $40 per article
US-CHINA TODAY POSITIONS
US-China Today is a student-driven publication of the USC U.S.-China Institute. Like the Institute, the magazine focuses on the multidimensional and evolving U.S.-China relationship and on significant trends in contemporary China. The magazine offers coverage of and commentary on a wide range of political, economic, social, and cultural issues.
Internships provide students with valuable research, writing, journalism, web development, video editing, public relations and/or marketing experience.
Intern and staff positions available are:
Staff Writers
Our staff writers interview sources, thoroughly research article topics, develop story ideas, bring information to the forefront by writing feature articles, and work with editors to expand their journalistic and professional skill set. Journalistic experience preferred but not required, strong writing skills a must. –Writers earn $40/article.
Translators
Translate phone calls and/or documents for staff writers and editors. Native-level Chinese language proficiency preferred, but advanced learner is acceptable.
To Apply
To apply for an internship, email a resume and short cover letter listing any relevant interests or work experience to uschinatoday@usc.edu. If you are applying for a staff writer position, we also require a short writing sample (journalistic preferred, but a school essay or assignment is also fine). Typically, we recruit staff members in the beginning of the fall and spring semesters but welcome applicants throughout the year as well. Only USC students may apply.
