Mercury Ink is the publishing imprint of Mercury Radio Arts, Inc., a multimedia production company owned by nationally syndicated radio host and seven-time #1 New York Times bestselling author Glenn Beck.
As a small publishing house, Mercury Ink’s goal is to create bestsellers out of every book it brings into its portfolio. Marketing is important to us and our promotional platforms are sizeable and encompass a variety of old and new media. We are creative, edgy and persistent in our efforts to get attention for the books we publish. We invest our time and money into the authors we choose to work with, and we expect the same in return. While we are able to market on a mass-scale, publishing is still about one-on-one connections and we enjoy working with authors who are willing to get out in their communities and focus on the grassroots efforts necessary to ensure success.
Submissions
Mercury Ink generally does not accept unsolicited manuscripts. However, due to the number of requests that we receive, we've created a submission process for those who desire to send us material.
What we look for:
We publish across a variety of age groups and genres, but each manuscript must have a clearly definable target audience that can be reached via our promotional efforts. We favor non-fiction over fiction, and we love non-fiction that has a clear point of view and that is backed up by solid research and references. History is a main focus for us, especially when that history can be brought to life and tied to current events.

Call for submissions, Forbidden Fiction Press, seeks er0tic fiction manuscripts
We are an alternative publishing group using an innovative strategy for both online publishing, paying both traditional royalties and member-dues profit sharing for authors. We are looking for well-written, cutting edge original erotic fiction of all lengths.
Publication takes multiple forms:
ForbiddenFiction's innovative system allows for author support and profit sharing at all levels and gives readers a variety of ways in which they can interact with the authors and purchase the works. We have a multi-level process which will give the reader more than just the chance to read the story, but to interact with the author(s) and other readers.
For multi-chapter (novel length, over 50,000 words) works:
1. Serialized on the front of our website, most likely in the form of one chapter (around 3000 words each) per week. The initial serialization is free to all readers, but only if they are willing to wait and read it as posted. At the beginning and end of every chapter, they are offered a chance to "buy it now." There are a lot of people who will read and buy in this format that would not do so if only given a sample chapter. The lure of the "free" is very powerful. Yet, once they get into the story, many readers will be willing to pay for the option of not waiting any longer to find out what happens next.
2. Ebook format on our site - links available in every chapter and in our catalog. Readers will have the option of buying the completed work immediately as a download (both during the serialization and after). Authors (and editors) get royalties from every sale of the ebook.
3. Ebook format on other sites. We will also sell the ebook at other venues (such as Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes and Noble, and others). Authors (and editors) will also receive royalties from these sales as they traditionally would.
4. Print-on-demand books. If the sales of the ebook warrant it, novels may be also available through print-on-demand books. On both the site and the other venues, readers will have the option of buying print-on-demand versions of the book. Royalties apply here as well. Some authors may also want to work with us to offer autographed copies to readers who come through promotions on the site.
5. Paid members only archiving. After a work has finished its run as a free serial on the site, it will be moved to the Paid Members section which will be set up as a searchable archive. We will have unique hit counters on these pages and authors will receive a profit share of member dues based on the volume of hits their pages receive.

Instead of content limits (or warnings), ForbiddenFiction will have searchable Content Labels that allow readers the flexibility of choosing the types of stories to read.
We know that while some authors can self-publish, the time spent designing the book format and cover, selling the book, and all the technical aspects can take valuable time away from writing. This site is designed with both readers and writers in mind, to maximize the experience for both. With ForbiddenFiction, you are part of a team of people with over thirty years publishing experience, all working to make, promote and enjoy erotic fiction.
Can anyone submit work to ForbiddenFiction?
ForbiddenFiction will consider both submissions of short works (under 10,000) and query letters from authors with previously published work. Send email with a description of the work your would like to submit (including summary, genre(s), and length) and information and links to your other work to email listed at the bottom of this FAQ. (Please read all first.)
At this time, we will be giving priority to the submissions from invited authors. Unsolicited queries and submissions may take longer. We have not yet sent a general call for submissions as our team is not yet ready for the possible deluge of submissions from an open call. We will be prioritizing authors whose work we know from other venues or who have been recommended to us by authors already working with us.
Since the site requires all members be at least 18 or over, that is also true of our authors as well.
Does it cost authors money to publish with ForbiddenFiction?
No! We are not a vanity press. We won't publish something because someone pays us to do it and we will be paying royalties to the creators of the work on our site. (The only exceptions will be if we allow fan work to be posted in some forums.)
While there will be Free Memberships and Paid Memberships for those who want to read the site, with differing levels of access, the authors we publish will not have to pay for membership as long as their work is hosted on the site (and they abide by site rules).
What are your royalty rates?
They are commensurate with current publishing standards. We expect to pay 35% on eBooks, 8% on print books and a proportional rate for membership income. Unusually, even short works will be paid based on a proportionate royalty system rather than the standard flat rate. This will mean less money up front but a greater chance at long term income.
Will you allow simultaneous submissions?
We cannot read a work if it is submitted to another publisher at the same time. If we are going to put the work into reading and reviewing a work, we want to know that it is available if we wish to publish it. If we send you an invitation, you know your work will be read and seriously considered. If we like it, we are committing the time of our entire staff to making it happen.
Can I submit more than one manuscript to ForbiddenFiction at the same time?
We will certainly consider more than one story at a time from an author who we have invited to work with us. New authors should let us evaluate one story at at time.
Does the work have to be finished?
Short fiction must be complete at the time it is submitted.
For longer works, you are welcome to send us queries with suggested works and/or sample chapters. We are most interested in works that have a complete first draft of over 50,000 words. Even with serialized fiction, we will not publish until the work is complete.
How should manuscript submissions be formatted?
Send your story as a word processor document (.doc, .rtf, .txt, etc.) attached to the email, but do not forget to include your complete contact information on the attached document! (If it’s only in the body of the email, it’s quite easy to have a brilliant story file in our system and then have no way to trace back where it came from.)
Manuscripts should be formatted for submission. One file per story. We prefer single spaced with a space in between paragraphs. (Indents at the beginning of paragraphs are not necessary.) Any submissions with severe formatting problems (i.e. blocks of text with no paragraph breaks, illegible fonts) will not be read. We also expect that even though we have proofreaders, that authors have read and corrected their own manuscripts before submission. Proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling are necessary.
How and where do I send my submission?
We will need your legal name, as well as a physical address, in order to offer a publishing contract. Some documents will have to be mailed rather than emailed. We will keep legal names confidential if author prefers to publish under a pseudonym(s).

Call for Manuscripts, Pandora Project Publisher, seeks science fiction/ fantasy/ horror/ mystery (USA)
We are a new publisher who publishes mostly ebooks and a few trade paper backs. Our ebooks are listed with Amazon.com (kindle), Barnes and Noble (Nook), Apple, Sony, Mobipocket.com, and dozens more.
We are currently open to receiving submissions for ebooks. We are looking for short stories and novels. No erotica or excessive language please. We will be publishing the stories as e-books.
We pay royalties of about 10%. You keep the rights to your work. We ask that you allow us to publish your work for at least three years. We pay royalties twice a year.
The minimum length is 10,000 words. No maximum. Please only send work that is finished. Make sure your work is polished (spelling and grammar). We are only (right now) taking submissions from the United States.
We are looking for short stories and novels in-

We are currently open to receiving submissions for ebooks. We are looking for short stories and novels. No erotica or excessive language please. We will be publishing the stories as e-books.
We pay royalties of about 10%. You keep the rights to your work. We ask that you allow us to publish your work for at least three years. We pay royalties twice a year.
The minimum length is 10,000 words. No maximum. Please only send work that is finished. Make sure your work is polished (spelling and grammar). We are only (right now) taking submissions from the United States.

We do not charge any fees at all for the editorial assistance we provide. Our income will come purely from publishing the finished book.
The reasoning behind this approach is that it takes a wide range of skills to produce a publishable novel. These include writing ability, plotting, character development etc, but also the ability to identify/consider the qualities that will result in sales, such as identification of the potential audience and marketability.
Currently, agents and publishers seem to expect finished manuscripts that excel in all of these areas. We believe that it is unreasonable to expect writers, especially new writers, to be able to do this, and that this approach is excluding from the publishing process significant potential that simply requires assistance in one or two areas. We aim to find this potential, provide the assistance required, and publish the work.

Include your name, email address, and bio with your submission. Telephone number is helpful but not required. The sample and synopsis can be in Word or PDF format. All samples and manuscripts must be in 12-point font, Times New Roman type font, and double-spaced with 1 inch margins all around. Do not send a sample if you are not finished writing your manuscript. Incomplete manuscripts will not be considered.
Once your book has been considered, we will email you to inform you if it has been accepted for publishing. If accepted, we will then send you a contract and ask you to send the complete manuscript. This contract will explain the terms and conditions. You can either scan or fax the signed contract to us or you can mail it to the mailing address we will provide in the email. All complete manuscripts MUST be emailed in Word format. From there, the publishing process will begin.
If your book is not accepted, we will inform you on the reasons. This doesn’t necessarily means that your book is not worth publishing; it simply means that it is not what we are looking for at this time. You can always improve your manuscript and resubmit it at a later date.

We are actively seeking: science fiction, both hard and soft; fantasy, from epic to urban and in between; horror, all types; Steampunk; cyberpunk; dystopian stories and anything else that falls beneath the wide SF umbrella.

New publishing house, Linda Leith Publishing, accepts narrative non-fiction
Montreal writer Linda Leith recently announced the creation of Linda Leith Publishing Inc., which will publish short works of narrative non-fiction both as electronic and as print books. Books will appear in English from Fall 2011 and in French from Spring 2012.
Linda Leith Publishing will focus on books in the 15,000–18,000 word length. The decision to focus primarily on short works of narrative non-fiction in digital form, a first in Canada, echoes the development in May 2011 of electronic books sold as Kindle Singles on www.amazon.com and as Byliner Originals on www.byliner.com.
Linda Leith Publishing Inc. will be glad to receive queries from writers interested in submitting a non-fiction manuscript (15,000–18,000 words) for consideration. Query letters should include a 2–3 paragraph description of the proposed book and biographical information.
